Moscow Envoy Claims Zelensky’s Diplomatic Efforts Losing Attention
Speaking during a UN Security Council briefing, Vassily Nebenzia claimed that discussions surrounding Ukraine were being overshadowed by developments in other international conflicts. He suggested that this shift in focus was affecting the level of attention and resources directed toward Kiev’s war effort.
He also criticized Western engagement with Ukraine, arguing that its leadership has relied heavily on sustained financial and military assistance from foreign partners since the escalation of the conflict in 2022. He referenced large-scale aid commitments from both Europe and the United States over recent years.
Nebenzia further argued that Ukraine’s leadership had expected uninterrupted levels of international support, but claimed that changing geopolitical priorities were complicating that expectation. He suggested that ongoing global crises are affecting the pace and visibility of military aid deliveries.
He also commented on recent Ukrainian diplomatic outreach related to defense cooperation and regional security discussions, implying that some of these proposals had not been well received by Western officials.
The remarks come amid broader debates at the United Nations over competing international crises and the allocation of political, military, and economic resources among them.
