Putin Highlights “Unprecedented” Russia-China Partnership
(MENAFN) Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that relations between Moscow and Beijing had attained an “unprecedented level” and emphasized that the nations’ friendship was “not directed against anyone” before his upcoming trip to China, according to comments released Tuesday by a Russian state news agency.
In a prerecorded message issued prior to his arrival in Beijing, Putin noted that Russia and China remained dedicated to strengthening collaboration in political affairs, trade, defense, and humanitarian interaction.
“Our friendship is not directed against anyone,” Putin declared, while underscoring that cooperation between the two countries was founded on “mutual understanding and trust” as well as backing for one another’s fundamental interests, including sovereignty and national unity.
Putin explained that he would visit Beijing at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, whom he referred to as a “long-time good friend.” He also stressed that consistent high-level communication played an essential role in advancing bilateral ties.
The Russian leader further remarked that Moscow and Beijing had established a “genuinely strategic relationship and comprehensive partnership” following the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness and Friendly Cooperation 25 years earlier.
“Their special nature is reflected in the atmosphere of mutual understanding and trust, a commitment to pursuing win-win and equitable cooperation, conducting respectful dialogue, and supporting each other on matters affecting the core interests of both countries, including protection of sovereignty and state unity,” Putin said.
